Reminders of Your Personal Defining Moment

Its wierd.

I am getting one friend added everyday on Skype from China. And surprise surprise, they are all girls. All younger than me too!

Either my profile is really sticky, or my profile pic is sticky. I would think both!

Hahah!!

There was this one interest conversation I had with a girl called Mia. She is from Guang Zhou. We were chatting for a while, and then she said this,

“I want to live a meaningful life. I want to be able to afford to give my parents a wonderful life. And I can only do it with money!”

 The interesting thing is this.

Her profile summary specifically says this,

“I am a girl who wants a simple and quiet life.”

I quoted her profile back to her and she agreed,

“Yeah, heh, that’s quite contradictory.”

All it took to bring her into that unlimited mindset, was this question,

“Had you ever thought of ever running your own business?”

This question sparked off a string of conversations that led to her dreaming again.

What am I driving at?

I have a confession to make. I got hooked on YouTube. It was click after click until I almost forgot about meals! When I got up in the morning, I was thinking about what YouTube video I should watch next! To make matters worse, watching all those videos tired out my eyes (I have an eye condition), and gave me a migraine, which forced me to sleep!

Friends, everyone, and anyone needs a reminder once in a while to keep our eyes on the prize. Chatting with Mia reminded me why I resigned and took away my mother’s retirement fund.

Chatting with me reminded Mia why she is slogging away at Uni, making herself valuable to the marketplace.

My Journey to the Land of Liberty - Ellie Drake

To understand the Principle of Liberty, first become aware of its context. This principle encourages us never to take for granted the external liberty within which we can create a life of success and fulfillment.

Within that context, this is the content of the principle. To have such a life, we must have internal freedom to such an extent that we can unleash our willingness to create success.
Perhaps you will find this story of the context liberating and inspiring. If the story succeeds, then the Principle of Liberty will always hold great meaning for you.

It was 5 a.m. I washed my face with the lukewarm water and looked at myself in the mirror, catching the light behind my dark, almond-shaped eyes. I placed the mandatory scarf on my head, attempting to cover what seemed at the time to be too much hair to cover. Read the rest of this entry »
